About The Role

Permanent, Full Time £48,205 to £57,988 per annum

Location: Colchester

Working Style: Community-based worker

Accountabilities

  • To manage allocation of all referrals, incoming work, and tasks to staff individually and to be responsible for the ongoing monitoring of workload and closure of cases.
  • To manage all recruitment and induction processes for new staff, identify and oversee training needs for staff and liaise with ESCA regarding any specific identified training needs.
  • As team manager undertake all regular and planned supervision to review personal and professional development of staff, as well as provide reflective case supervision and complete staff annual performance capabilities.
  • To provide management oversight on outcomes of interventions, support plans, and reports such as Child Protection conference reports.
  • To establish, develop and maintain productive working relationships with other relevant agencies and organisations, and to work in a multi-disciplinary way to achieve best outcomes for families.
  • To actively participate in wider strategic developments by attending relevant meetings with partners in Health, learning Disability services and Commissioning.
  • To manage and oversee quality assurance of services provided.
  • To manage and respond to complaints or compliments received and implement any learning from these.
  • To use data information systems (PowerBi) to monitor specific data and use this to inform any service planning and/or team plans, such as efficient throughput of work.
  • To use data to inform performance reports.
  • To ensure all staff understand and follow SET procedures and any concerns are highlighted and recorded correctly, following ECC policies and guidance.
  • Continue to expand and develop the service as required to ensure continued delivery of high-quality services.
  • To provide consistent advice, guidance, support, and consultation to colleagues across all relevant services, including other frontline teams.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • A recognised social work qualification i.e., Diploma, degree or Masters in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, with current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a registered social worker.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development, aligned to any relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements.
  • Experience of managing staff in a supervisory role.
  • Specialist knowledge of disability and its impact on families, trauma, challenging behaviour, and positive behaviour support management.
  • Knowledge of Children Act 1989 and 2004, the Care Act 2014 and other legislative and policy guidance applicable within Children’s Social Care, including SET procedures.
  • Ability to lead team meetings and contribute to other relevant professional meetings.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with other agencies and professionals to maximise outcomes for disabled children and their families.
  • Ability to complete written reports to a good standard.

Required Mobility

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
