The Education Legal Services Support Officer will administer and oversee the preparation for appeals before the Special Educational Needs & Disability Tribunal.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate data systems, providing reports and statistical data on the Tribunal system.
- Responsible for administering and overseeing the support system for the preparation and representation of the Council at appeals before the Special Educational Needs & Disability Tribunal (SEND).
- Responsible for providing high quality support and co-ordination in relation to Local Government Ombudsman cases, Judicial Reviews and other ad hoc legal challenges.
- Acts as the first point of contact and coordinator for receipt of SEN appeals from the Special Educational Needs & Disability Tribunal (SEND) and subsequently as principal liaison officer with the Tribunal administrative office and parents' advocates.
- Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.
The Experience You Will Bring
- Evidence of providing administrative support.
- Experience of the MS Office suite of programmes and database systems.
- Experience of collecting, processing and analysing data, translating this into reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to deliver information to a wide range of audiences.
