The Park Operations Assistant will ensure the park is secure and open at critical times during the day for visitors. The role includes ensuring all facilities are safe and well-presented for the public, carrying out a variety of duties to maintain the grounds and infrastructure.
We currently have the following part-time opportunities available at Great Notley Country Park:
- 2 positions averaging 18.5 hours per week (962 hours per year)
- 1 position averaging 14.48 hours per week (769 hours per year)
The working pattern operates on a rolling rota; flexibility is essential and the role includes regular weekend working.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the daily operation of the parks by ensuring all car park vehicle access points are open at the times publicised to the general public and also securely closed when the site is closed.
- Assist with the efficiency of the operation by ensuring all facilities including toilets, buildings and storage areas are secure and designated areas are available as needed.
- Assist with the maintenance of the building and park, including painting, putting up signage, weeding, cutting back foliage and other practical maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that all facilities are cleaned and maintained, including toilets, litter picking and bin clearance.
- Support general operational activities as required.
- Complete relevant checks such as Health and Safety checks within the park and completing all relevant paperwork in line with procedures.
- Engage with customers to consider and improve the visitor’s experience; deal with issues and problems involving visitors that occur within the country park.
- Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.
- Any other duties reasonably requested commensurate with the level of the role and responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Practical maintenance experience is desirable.
- Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE or BTech), or equivalent by experience.
- Experience of working with members of the public or customers delivering excellent customer service.
- Evidence of good communication skills with the ability to deliver information and advice.
- Experience of working within a team and supporting team members to deliver local objectives.
