The Housing & Community Administration Support Officer will provide high-quality administrative, financial and performance support to the Housing & Community team. This permanent, full-time role is based in Braintree and pays a salary range of £26,622 to £29,787 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support statutory responsibilities under the Homelessness Reduction Act and the Allocations Policy by providing administrative, financial and performance assistance.
  • Manage busy inboxes, support performance reporting and financial processes, and coordinate administrative tasks.
  • Schedule meetings, take minutes, track action points, maintain rotas and contribute to workflow efficiency.
  • Work closely with frontline services to ensure accurate and timely support for residents.

Key Requirements

  • Strong IT skills and experience using digital tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel, with a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Previous administrative experience, ideally involving financial or performance processes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proactive approach, able to use initiative and work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and a commitment to excellent customer service.
