The predicted salary is between 29468 - 34668 £ per year.

Please note this is a fixed‑base role. Whilst you will be contractually based in your preferred ACL office, the role allows for some home‑working and a requirement to attend ACL sites 2‑3 days per week, in line with business need.

The Senior Marketing Officer leads the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns and promotional activities and events that increase learner participation and income, aligned to council priorities and ACL objectives. The postholder uses customer relationship management (CRM) systems, digital analytics and management information systems (MIS) to target campaigns, monitor performance and report on impact, working collaboratively with curriculum and engagement teams to achieve recruitment and income targets.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of marketing campaigns and promotional activities and events that increase learner participation and income, aligned to council priorities and ACL objectives.
  • Continuously review performance analytics of marketing campaigns and promotional activities and events.
  • Create and manage content for digital and print channels, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and council brand guidelines.
  • Use CRM systems and digital analytics to monitor campaign performance, track engagement and report on return on investment (ROI).
  • Collaborate with curriculum, engagement and centre teams to ensure marketing activity reflects current provision, learner needs and progression opportunities.
  • Analyse data from MIS and learner feedback to inform targeting, improve customer experience and support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure marketing materials promote equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and safeguarding principles.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and partners to deliver cost‑effective marketing solutions and maintain quality standards.
  • Contribute to the Self‑Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) by providing evidence of marketing impact and learner engagement.
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Educated to RQF Level 4 or above (or equivalent by experience) in a relevant field such as marketing, communications or business, with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience of planning and delivering marketing campaigns in an education, training or customer‑focused environment.
  • Knowledge of funding and regulatory frameworks relevant to Adult Community Learning (ACL), including guidance from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
  • Strong digital skills and experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, analytics tools and Management Information Systems (MIS) to monitor performance and report on impact.
  • Excellent communication, creativity and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and continuous improvement, with the ability to interpret data and act on insight to improve outcomes.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
