Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive experience managing or leading a statutory Housing Options or Homelessness service within a UK Local Authority setting.
  • Expert, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK housing law, the Homelessness Code of Guidance, and relevant case law (e.g., vulnerability and affordability metrics).
  • Proven experience managing high‑pressure capital budgets and commissioning external accommodation providers.
  • Hold a CIH Level 5 in Housing (or be prepared to study for).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to remain calm, authoritative, and non‑partisan under political or judicial scrutiny.
  • A leadership style rooted in kindness, collaboration, capable of fostering emotional resilience and high performance within a demanding work environment.
