Advanced Skills Worker

£33,049 to £37,689 per annum
Location: Clacton on Sea
Working Style: Fixed‑base worker

The role will support the Manager and Deputy Manager and work alongside a team of staff supporting adults with a learning disability and/or autism. The role includes shifts in the office leading, and other shifts in Houses/flats supporting adults with everyday living skills, preparing them for future independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance to adults and their families, ensuring robust care in a residential home environment.
- Plan and deliver individual care plans, working directly with adults to meet personal outcomes.
- Provide day‑to‑day practice guidance to other residential staff and formally supervise residential workers and assistants as directed by the homes manager.
- Lead shift patterns, including weekends, public holidays and sleep‑in duties.
- Maintain a caring, safe and secure environment, enhancing opportunities for adults to improve outcomes.
- Travel across Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings as required.
- Attend to safety, safeguarding and safeguarding responsibilities as part of the adult social care service.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience within a care setting, including team‑leader or senior‑staff experience.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with adults, establishing positive relationships based on strengths, hopes and dreams.
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
- Willingness to register with the DBS update service if required for employment with Essex County Council.

Travel & Mobility
The role requires mobility throughout a wider operational area, travelling within Essex and beyond. A driving licence and vehicle, or alternative means to meet the mobility requirements, are essential.
