Join Essex County Council (ECC) Adult Social Care services as an experienced Social Worker in our West Essex Neighbourhood team. You will work across Harlow and Epping, collaborating with health, housing, and voluntary sector partners to support adults aged 18 and above, undertaking assessments, reviews, mental capacity assessments, and safeguarding under the Care Act 2014.

This role involves conducting Care Act assessments, reviews, and safeguarding. Candidates should reside locally to respond effectively and possess knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Care Act, with established experience in Adult Social Care.

This position offers hybrid working, with an expectation to be office-based at Goodman House in Harlow around 2 days per week, depending on business needs for team collaboration and training.

About You

You should be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England, with current experience in Adult Social Care. You will demonstrate significant social work experience, model good practice, and provide guidance in complex situations. A comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance is essential.

Experience in chairing meetings with clients, families, carers, and multi-agency professionals is required. You should excel in building relationships with partner agencies and the community to support vulnerable adults.

You will also bring:

• Evidence of ongoing professional development and adherence to professional standards.
• An understanding of the financial implications of care packages.
• Decision-making skills to assess and mitigate risks effectively.

A driving license and access to a vehicle, or alternative mobility means, are essential due to travel requirements around Essex and beyond.
