Location: ECL Colchester Older People Day Centre

Hours: 15 hours per week, Monday - 5 hours, Wednesday 5 hours, Thursday 5 hours (9am - 2pm)

As a Cook in our Marylands Older People Day Centre, you will undertake a full range of responsibilities including preparing menus and meals for older people and individuals with learning disabilities. You will consider and understand dietary needs to ensure appropriate menu choices for our customers, and provide meals for those with Speech and Language Therapy requirements that have been given by a health professional. The Cook will work alongside the Day Centre Manager to ensure we are working to a high food safety standard, that the kitchen is appropriately stocked and that we are working within the specified budget. You'll be approachable and caring, interacting with our customers to take orders and handle money.

About You

  • Provide specialised diets, where necessary.
  • Carry out associated cleaning duties.
  • Ensure the correct, safe, and economical use of equipment, organizing annual servicing as required.
  • Have experience of working in a kitchen or catering environment, preparing food for large groups of people with varying dietary needs.
  • Have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
