Clerks fulfil a vital role for the Trust Board, an important source of advice for Trustees on governance matters for which training (if needed) will be provided. The Trust Board, through its appointed and elected Trustees, plays a distinctive and essential role in the continuing success and development of the school. The Clerk's job is to work with the Chair and other Trustees, dealing with administrative matters for the Trust Board. Central to this role is preparing for, taking notes at and producing minutes for meetings. Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

This position is with immediate effect. The post will involve 6hrs (FTB mtgs) and 4hrs (F&A mtgs) work for each meeting and there will be six full Trust Board meetings and three Finance & Audit Committee meetings per year. Further or additional hours, if and when required, will be paid at the same rate. Meetings will usually be held out of school hours on Tuesday evenings.

Your Skills

  • Excellent organisational skills with a knowledge of minute taking and record keeping.
  • Highly organised, confidentially aware and able to keep to deadlines.
  • An effective communicator with strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of governance procedures and legislative requirements or the willingness to attend training and the aptitude to develop this.

Payment is Scale 7, points 19-24 £16.62ph - £18.35ph dependant on experience.
