Position Overview: The Director of Human Resources will play a key strategic and operational role in fostering a people-first culture that aligns with our mission and values. This role is responsible for leading all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee and union relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a strong background in HR best practices and a passion for working in the non-profit sector.

As the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing mentoring and leadership to the Human Resources team to build a culture of teamwork and innovation.
  • Providing HR leadership and expertise to the teams in relation to all people matters in support of their operational goals, including recruiting, retention, disability management, people development, and succession planning.
  • Attending and actively participating in leadership meetings, Board of Directors’ meetings, strategic planning sessions, and more.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
  • Leading talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
  • Managing HRIS systems, employee records, and data analytics to drive HR decision-making and reporting.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with 5 being in a senior-level financial and HR operations role.
  • Minimum university degree in an applicable field (Industrial Relations or Human Resources).
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to solve problems using a creative approach.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
