Position: Quantity Surveyor – Housing Salary: >£55k Location: South Yorkshire Role: Full time, permanent position Essential Site Solutions are working with a leading contractor, who are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their established team. Responsibilities for the Quantity Surveyor: * Responsible for the financial cost control and reporting of one or more developments from start to finish * Responsible for sub-contract final accounts, * Recovery/ discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material. * Ensure effective cash management and careful administration of subcontractor accounts, * Being aware of the need to cultivate longstanding relationships and promote dispute avoidance. * You will be responsible for swiftly identifying any commercial threats to projects, * Hold a degree level in quantity surveying, * Client-driven, with strong decision making and communication skills * Be able to prioritise work against tight deadlines and sometimes conflicting priorities. * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, * Significant knowledge of measurement and valuation in addition to final accounts and sub-contract orders and buying. * Must have strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management, you will be adept in preparing and understanding financial reports Benefits for the Quantity Surveyor: * Holidays – 26 days * Life Assurance * Pension * Private medical insurance * Ability to purchase additional holiday * Access to discount portal * Cycle to Work scheme * Digital GP * Employee assistance programme * Sharesave scheme
