Workshop Engineer Location: Shrewsbury Salary: £18.50 per hour (£38,480 basic salary) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:30pm An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join a well-established and growing machinery dealership. This is a workshop-based role working on a range of industry-leading construction and plant equipment, carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs. As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of construction and agricultural machinery whilst ensuring work is completed safely and to manufacturer standards. Key Responsibilities of a Workshop Engineer: * Service, maintain and repair construction plant and agricultural machinery. * Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults. * Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance. * Rebuild and repair major machine components when required. * Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and rectify issues. * Complete all service documentation and job cards accurately. * Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements. * Work closely with the parts and service departments to ensure customer expectations are met. Requirements of a Workshop Engineer: Essential: * Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing plant machinery, agricultural machinery or heavy equipment. * Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills. * Experience working on machinery such as: * Excavators * Telehandlers * Loading Shovels * Dumpers * Tractors * Agricultural Equipment * Ability to diagnose and repair machinery faults independently. * Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable: * Previous experience working within a plant hire, construction equipment, agricultural machinery or dealership environment. * Experience with JCB equipment. * Level 3 Plant Maintenance qualification or equivalent. * Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software. * Knowledge of hydraulic systems and fault-finding. Please Note: * Candidates must have hands-on experience repairing machinery rather than installing safety systems, telematics, cameras or ancillary equipment. * Workshop or field service experience within the plant, agricultural or heavy equipment sectors would be highly advantageous. Package: £18.50 per hour basic rate. Basic salary of £38,480 per annum. Overtime available. Company laptop and mobile phone provided. Manufacturer training and development opportunities.
