Are you a Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical experience? We’re currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Somercotes, offering an immediate start and a competitive pay rate of £20.86 per hour. This is a temporary ongoing role with an immediate start for the right candidate.
Shifts: Rotating 6:00am‑2:00pm, 2:00pm‑10:00pm
Pay: £20.86 per hour
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site machinery to minimise downtime and keep production running efficiently. The role will mainly focus on mechanical maintenance, with some reactive work when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on plant and production equipment
- Mechanical fault finding and repairs to minimise downtime
- Supporting with reactive maintenance when breakdowns occur
- Recording maintenance work accurately on the Pirana system
- Reviewing and improving PPM schedules to maximise machine uptime
- Working closely with production and planning teams to schedule maintenance work
- Ensuring all maintenance records and documentation are kept up to date
- Following health & safety procedures and best practices at all times
- Supporting continuous improvement across the site
What We’re Looking For
- Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or food production environment
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Comfortable using maintenance systems and basic IT
