An Infrastructure Designer with strong experience of full end-to-end Infrastructure Design and Architecture is urgently required by my client. As an Infrastructure Designer, you will also work collaboratively with the Head of Architecture to set strategic direction for the business and work with colleagues to move architecture towards the target state in a controlled manner. Experience of IT Security will also be required to ensure that both architecture and solutions are secure by design.
Role and responsibilities:
- Design fit-for-purpose architectural solutions which are secure by design
- Maintain the Architecture framework across the organisation
- Take responsibility for architecting, designing and implementing end-to-end Infrastructure solutions across the Azure Enterprise
- Ensure that appropriate architecture roadmaps, with associated principles and standards, are devised and communicated to provide direction for change initiatives
- Produce and/or oversee the production of design documentation for change initiatives
Skills and Experience:
- In-depth experience in the architecture, design and implementation of Azure solutions comprising security, networking, database, compute and application performance management
- Substantial expertise in designing and implementing Azure-based technology services in a Microservices setting
- Experience of defining and enforcing IAM and network segmentation strategies
- Solid understanding of modern automation tooling in the infrastructure/technology domain (Splunk, Chef, Ansible or Puppet would be ideal)
- Experience designing to an Azure Cloud and Microservices environment
- Ability to support technology strategy and road-mapping, using tools such as Enterprise Architect to align with EA frameworks
As an Azure Infrastructure Designer, you will report into the Head of Architecture and you will be closely aligned with the Cyber Security team, as well as spending significant time with operations staff, project managers, the Infrastructure Operations Manager and the Head of Service.
