Our client, a well-regarded local authority partnership, is seeking an experienced Greenspaces & Projects Officer (Parks & Events) to support the delivery of high-profile environmental and community projects across Bromsgrove and Redditch. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping greener, more vibrant public spaces and delivering visible improvements that benefit local communities.
The Opportunity
You will join the Parks & Events team, taking a lead role in delivering capital projects, including Section 106 schemes, parish initiatives, and externally funded programmes. This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll oversee projects from inception through to completion managing procurement, contractors, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the delivery of capital investment programmes
- Manage Section 106 funding from feasibility through to completion
- Oversee contractor performance and project delivery
- Support Green Flag standard improvements across parks and open spaces
- Contribute to funding bids and service development strategies
- Support the planning and delivery of community events and play schemes
- Engage with councillors, residents, and external partners
- Use feedback and consultation to improve services and participation
