Attendance Officer needed in Walsall, £16.34ph PAYE - Reference: RQ1649869
This is an exciting opportunity to join the School Attendance Support Service. The School Attendance Support Service works with schools in Walsall to monitor and enforce regular attendance. We work closely with families and schools to understand and address the reasons for absences and develop strategies for improving attendance.
We are looking for motivated, dynamic and ambitious Attendance Officers, someone that has strong organisational and communication skills as well as being a good team player. Successful applicants will support schools and families to ensure that children are receiving an education and achieving their potential.
As part of the attendance team, applicants will need to have experience within an educational setting and have experience with supporting attendance. Applicants will be expected to work independently, within a statutory framework and a graduated system with a restorative approach. Successful applicants will work closely with pupils, staff, parents, and carers to reduce levels of absence. This will involve home visits, parental meetings and supporting schools to raise participation of children and young people at risk of becoming persistently absent.
This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
