LCV Technician needed in Derby, £17.70ph
PAYE - Reference: 5300267 To carry out a range of duties, primarily directed towards the maintenance and repairs of vehicles to ensure they are in a compliant and roadworthy condition.

Carry out the routine maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant equipment used at Stores Road depot or any other site nominated.

All maintenance undertaken is to comply with the standards set out in VOSAs Guide to Roadworthiness and all Operator Licence stipulations where applicable.

Bring to the attention of the Assistant Workshop Manager or Workshop Manager any indication of driver/operator damage noted during routine servicing and inspection, preparing written reports if required.

Attend promptly to vehicle and plant breakdowns involving taking out a replacement vehicle or item of plant, repairing defective vehicles or plant on site and arranging the return of it to the depot.

Investigate the cause of vehicle and plant faults using gauges, hand held test equipment and computer software, isolate the cause and carry out necessary repairs.

Complete all service/inspection and daily worksheets.

Assist in the specification and selection of new plant and machinery.

Ensure that the store facility is kept clean and tidy and make sure that all materials used on vehicles, plant and equipment are accounted for.

Advise, as necessary, on replacement stock required.

Observe all instructions with regard to Health and Safety, reporting issues as appropriate and keeping working areas clear at all times.

Participate in a shift work rota involving alternating early and late shifts.

Night shift working will not be necessary.

On occasion, overtime working may be required.

Participate in the operation of an emergency out of hours stand by rota.

The postholder will be required to be available at their home and to respond to a call out request.

If on stand-by duties, the postholder may be required to take a van home at night.

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis
