Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide recommendations on listed building consent applications, planning applications and related heritage consultations.
  • Provide specialist conservation advice on proposals affecting listed buildings, conservation areas, registered parks and gardens and other designated and non-designated heritage assets.
  • Respond to pre-application enquiries and provide advice to applicants, agents and colleagues.
  • Undertake site visits as required.
  • Prepare written consultation responses, reports and recommendations.
  • Assist with conservation area matters, heritage projects and policy work where required.
  • Support the monitoring and resolution of Buildings at Risk cases.
  • Liaise with Historic England, local amenity societies, town and parish councils, applicants and other stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings and represent the Historic Environment Team as required.
