Senior Highways Officer needed in Oxford. This is a temporary contract initially paying £228.00 per day PAYE. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, designing and delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes across the county, ensuring the effective upkeep of assets such as carriageways, footways, drainage systems and safety barriers.

Working closely with design teams and partners, the postholder ensures cost‑effective delivery, manages scheme finances, procurement and risk, and supports the achievement of service plan objectives. As Senior Officer – Highway Schemes, they lead on scheme delivery, provide technical expertise, oversee site investigations, prepare specifications and contract documents, and use analytical tools to prioritise work. They also act as a point of escalation for complex issues and may deputise for the Team Leader when required.
