Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers by phone to discuss outstanding council tax and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Maximise collection through effective communication and accurate data handling.
- Set up council tax accounts and apply relevant discounts, exemptions, and reliefs.
- Initiate and manage recovery procedures in line with council tax legislation.
- Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, letter, or in person, ensuring high standards of service.
- Assist in the timely dispatch of demand notices, recovery notices, and review letters.
- Maintain and update the revenues database accurately.
- Process system-generated reports and recovery notices according to schedules.
- Support legal proceedings by providing evidence and documentation.
- Assist with investigations into suspected fraud under supervision.
- Handle complex complaints and enquiries professionally.
- Respond to Freedom of Information and Data Subject Access Requests.
- Support the preparation of appeal cases and respond to formal complaints, including those from elected representatives.
