Revenues Officer needed in North London Paying £22.35 per hr ref 1600711

Full time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact customers by phone to discuss outstanding council tax and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Maximise collection through effective communication and accurate data handling.
  • Set up council tax accounts and apply relevant discounts, exemptions, and reliefs.
  • Initiate and manage recovery procedures in line with council tax legislation.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, letter, or in person, ensuring high standards of service.
  • Assist in the timely dispatch of demand notices, recovery notices, and review letters.
  • Maintain and update the revenues database accurately.
  • Process system-generated reports and recovery notices according to schedules.
  • Support legal proceedings by providing evidence and documentation.
  • Assist with investigations into suspected fraud under supervision.
  • Handle complex complaints and enquiries professionally.
  • Respond to Freedom of Information and Data Subject Access Requests.
  • Support the preparation of appeal cases and respond to formal complaints, including those from elected representatives.
