Project Control Officer - Planned Maintenance needed in Manchester, £17.60ph PAYE - Reference: 000A A48F / 1. This is a full-time role to support the planned maintenance team within Highways. The planned maintenance team ensures the delivery of resurfacing and treatment of carriageways across Manchester. This role will include facilitating the permits to allow these works to happen. Training using the permit system will be provided but it would be desirable if the candidate already has some prior experience.
The role holder will also look after the planned maintenance inbox ensuring responses are provided in a timely manner. This will mean providing technical responses with support from the contractors and articulating in a way that residents can understand. An understanding of stage 1/stage 2 complaints and some highways experience or public sector background would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:- Provide an effective support function for the assigned service area, ensuring that high quality technical and customer services are delivered in line with legislative requirements.
- Assess project / initiative / work package feasibility, paying close attention to procedure and legislation where appropriate and ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard.
- Develop successful relationships and secure stakeholder commitment through negotiation and communications, both oral and written, to ensure work packages are delivered effectively and to customer requirements and agreed objectives.
- Identify and address relevant issues with assigned work packages and following assessment make recommendations in accordance with service plans, customer requirements or legislative needs.
- Ensure that work to continuously develop and improve processes is undertaken.
- Ensure all work carried out fits within the parameters of service level agreements, using appropriate specialist equipment / software or tools where required in line with safe working practices and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain effective relationships to ensure the highest standard of service delivery.
This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
