Repairs and Maintenance Team Leader needed in Loughborough. Paying £25 per hr. Full time hours on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Property Inspection & Diagnosis: Undertake detailed inspections of properties to investigate damp, mould, condensation, and water ingress. Identify root causes, including structural defects, ventilation issues, heating performance, and environmental factors. Assess risks using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), with a focus on vulnerable residents.
  • Remedial Works & Specifications: Specify appropriate remedial works including damp-proofing treatments, ventilation and insulation improvements, structural repairs and mould treatments. Prepare schedules of work, technical specifications, and cost estimates. Ensure all works comply with Building Regulations, housing standards, and policies.
  • Tenant & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate clearly and sensitively with residents, explaining findings and solutions. Provide expert advice to internal teams (Housing, Repairs, Complaints, Environmental Health). Support early intervention strategies to prevent recurring issues.
  • Compliance, Quality & Assurance: Ensure compliance with the Housing Act, HHSRS, and all relevant legislation. Monitor works in progress and conduct post-inspections to ensure quality and value for money. Contribute to complaints, Ombudsman cases, and disrepair claims.
  • Records & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and photographic evidence. Identify trends across the housing stock and contribute to service improvements. Support the development of damp and mould policies and best practice.
