Senior Housing Benefit Appeals Officer needed in North London. Paying £30.03 per hr. Full time hours on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare responses for housing benefit and council tax reduction appeals, including drafting detailed submissions for tribunals.
- Represent the organisation at First-tier Tribunal hearings, presenting cases professionally and effectively.
- Ensure all decisions comply with current legislation, case law, and internal policies.
- Provide expert advice and support to colleagues on complex benefit issues and appeals.
- Analyse and interpret regulations, guidance, and case law to ensure accurate decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records and case files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including solicitors, welfare rights advisors, and tribunal services.
- Contribute to service improvements by identifying trends and recommending changes to processes and policies.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior staff to develop their knowledge and skills.
