Community Ranger needed in Kingston upon Thames, £15.68ph PAYE – Reference: RQ1665746
Works with manager and colleagues to define outcomes, set targets and monitor performance, within a culture of continual improvement.
Supports operational plans to ensure that the resources within the teams are used to best effect and impact.
Builds strong internal and external working partnerships to enable the service to be delivered in an outcome-focused and efficient way.
Supports Kingston’s commitment to community cohesion and valuing diversity and social inclusion.
Uses new technologies, particularly Google, to adopt modern, agile working practices, improve customer service and eliminate paper-based processes wherever possible.
- Community & Councillor Support: Assist Councillors in their Neighbourhoods, supporting local projects, community engagement, and environmental improvements (e.g., planting, clean-up campaigns).
- Neighbourhood Projects & Partnerships: Work with services, partners (e.g., Police, voluntary sector), and stakeholders to deliver initiatives, resolve local issues, and enhance community safety and cohesion.
- Customer & Resident Engagement: Liaise with the Customer Contact Centre to address resident concerns and support vulnerable residents through community response initiatives.
- Operational & Environmental Maintenance: Provide rapid responses to local environmental issues, oversee graffiti removal, and implement the Special Cleanse Programme.
- Contract & Compliance Monitoring: Work collaboratively with contractors to ensure service delivery meets required standards, addressing any issues promptly and escalating concerns to Neighbourhood Managers or Contract Officers where necessary.
- Community Leadership & Events: Act as an ambassador for the Client, support ward funding projects, and lead volunteer activities such as litter picks and action days.
- Corporate & Strategic Support: Contribute to projects across the Residents and Communities directorate, champion climate action and community resilience.
- Flexible Support Across the Directorate: Work dynamically across the Residents and Communities Directorate, assisting with service delivery and projects as needed. Participate in a rota to provide support outside core hours in response to community needs.
Embeds equity, equality, fairness and diversity into all aspects of team working and service delivery.
This is a full-time role on a Temporary contract basis.
