Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the preparation of the Local Plan, including taking a plan through Regulation 19 consultation and Examination in Public.
- Draft and refine allocation and development management policies, ensuring they are robust, deliverable, and legally compliant.
- Work collaboratively with officers across Place Services and other Council departments to ensure policies are fit for purpose and aligned with corporate priorities.
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory consultees, developers, and the Planning Inspectorate.
- Provide professional planning advice and mentoring to colleagues within the planning service.
- Support senior officers and Members on Local Plan matters as required.
