Principal Planning Officer needed in Halifax. Paying £40 per hr. Full time hours on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the investigation and resolution of complex and high‑risk planning enforcement cases.
  • Undertake site visits, gather and assess evidence, and prepare detailed case reports.
  • Draft and progress formal enforcement notices and related documentation.
  • Work closely with Legal Services, including supporting cases through appeal or prosecution where necessary.
  • Assist the Team Leader with the day‑to‑day management of the enforcement service.
  • Provide technical guidance, supervision and mentoring to junior officers.
  • Contribute to service improvement, consistency of decision‑making and best practice.
