Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proportionate investigations into a range of crime types.
  • Obtain and record witness statements in accordance with legislation.
  • Prepare and manage investigation files for criminal justice processes.
  • Carry out suspect and witness interviews (following PIP1/PIP2 guidance).
  • Gather, analyse and evaluate intelligence and evidence.
  • Conduct house-to-house enquiries and CCTV/tracking enquiries.
  • Liaise with victims, keeping them updated on investigation progress.
  • Support officers with case building, file management and disclosure.
  • Maintain accurate records on relevant police systems.
