Flood Risk Engineer needed in Essex £40-£45 per hour, Umbrella. Full‐Time, Temporary, 37 Hours per Week, 3 Months Contract.
Role Purpose
- To be the technical specialist and able to deliver services across flood risk analysis including reviewing flood risk assessments, SuDS designs, responding to planning applications as well as contributing when required to the management of the council's flood storage assets.
- To constructively challenge consultants and developers to design effective drainage systems that comply with local and national planning policy and legislation.
- To be a knowledgeable expert in SuDS systems and able to monitor and assess new and existing drainage systems across a range of developments including new large residential sites.
- Ensure the Client meets its statutory obligations and that the highest standards of probity and good conduct are maintained at all times.
- Take collective responsibility for ensuring excellent services are provided to our residents.
Ideal Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Relevant professional degree/qualification or demonstrable equivalent work experience in flood risk engineering, drainage or environmental protection.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding issues commensurate with the role.
- Previous experience in an organisation of comparable scale and complexity.
- A demonstrable track record of providing an efficient, effective, confidential and professional flood risk assessment service.
- Proven IT skills, using MS Office, GIS mapping systems.
- Knowledge of MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage would be an advantage.
- Extremely high attention to detail and diligent record keeping.
