Environmental Health Officer/ Community Safety Officer

Environmental Health/Community Safety Officer needed in North London – Paying £24.03 per hr – Ref 012933

Full-time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct inspections and enforcement activities to ensure compliance with commercial safety regulations.
2. Investigate and resolve statutory nuisance complaints related to noise, smoke, dust, light, and odour.
3. Address anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues, working closely with the ASB team and other stakeholders.
4. Act as a Licensing Responsible Authority, reviewing and providing feedback on licensing applications.
5. Educate and advise businesses and the public on commercial safety standards and practices.
6. Represent the company in a customer-facing environment, often in challenging circumstances.
7. Perform enforcement functions from an office base (25%-40%) and through site visits (60%-75%) to premises, carrying appropriate equipment.
8. Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of investigations and actions taken.
9. Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to address public health and safety concerns.
