Senior Lawyer needed in Bolton Paying Β£30 per hr ref 000A A9E9 / 1. Full time hours on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate oral and written legal advice on procedural issues, policy matters, and individual case studies involving child protection.
- Assess relevant law, evidence, and expert opinions; advise on possible courses of action and brief Counsel where appropriate, including participation in Child Protection Meetings and Statutory Reviews.
- Support teams in drafting and revising policy and procedure documents to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Provide timely legal advice in response to queries from senior stakeholders.
- Advise on legislative changes, government guidelines, and case law developments impacting service provision.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks that could lead to litigation or maladministration.
- Advise on specific case matters, evaluating evidence and recommending the most appropriate form of proceedings in relation to Child Protection.
- Act as legal advisor to Adoption and Fostering Panels or equivalent bodies.
- Represent the organization at hearings and provide expert advocacy as required.
