Planning Officer needed in Newton Abbott Paying £35 per hr ref 5299979. Full time hours on a temporary basis.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and determining planning applications.
  • Applying Local Plan policies, planning legislation and other material considerations.
  • Managing a caseload effectively to meet performance targets.
  • Preparing officer recommendations and committee reports.
  • Negotiating with applicants to improve development proposals.
  • Providing pre-application planning advice.
  • Preparing appeal statements and representing the authority at appeals.
  • Conducting site inspections and investigating planning-related complaints.
  • Assessing Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) liability.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring statutory compliance.
