Business Support Officer needed in Kingston upon Thames, £15.68ph PAYE – Reference: RQ1630700 to process planning applications and carry out all associated admin duties.
- Check planning applications for validity based on both national and local validation requirements.
- Prepare and upload application documentation to Document Management System.
- Prepare and send out statutory notification letters.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability and initiative to liaise and negotiate with the public, external agents and organisations, Council members and other Council departments.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Handle a diverse and competing workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Notify agents/applicants of reasons for invalidity of planning applications where applicable.
- Deal with inbound enquiries and provide advice to customers.
- An understanding of the terminology and planning application process would be preferable.
- Good organisational, communication and IT skills will be required, including prioritising and allocating work to meet deadlines.
This is a full time role on a Temporary contract basis.
