Responsibilities:
- Leading on the preparation of Local Plan documents, supplementary planning guidance, evidence-base studies, and consultation exercises.
- Providing expert policy advice to colleagues, elected members, developers, and residents.
- Representing the Local Planning Authority at Public Inquiries, Hearings, and Examinations.
- Assessing and interpreting changes to planning legislation, national policy, and environmental/sustainability requirements.
- Supporting and contributing to corporate strategies relating to climate change, carbon reduction, heritage, and place-making.
- Managing projects and coordinating external consultants, work programmes, and deadlines.
- Preparing reports, briefing notes, and committee papers.
- Working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners to ensure integrated policy delivery.
