Accounting Technician / Finance Assistant (HYBRID) needed in Portsmouth, £16.11ph - Reference: 5269906
Full time hours but part time is also considered, ideally 3 days per week. Flexible working hours and hybrid working (office working Monday and Thursday).
The Financial Services team is committed to providing prompt and reliable management information to the service managers, supporting strategic decision making and helping to identify risks, challenges and opportunities.
The Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services Directorate is delivering a diverse range of front-line services, including waste management, building maintenance and housing services. The directorate's financial context is complex with oversight of general fund budgets and grants as well as holding the distinct responsibilities for the Housing Revenue Account.
The successful applicant will report into the Senior Accountant and will support the activities of the Accounting Technicians to deliver a full range of high-quality financial management and accountancy services to a range of clients. These include the members, strategic directors, officers as well as to the auditors, government departments and external stakeholders.
Tasks will include raising orders and invoices and reconciling various expenditure and income accounts. The role will also provide support to the revenue and capital budgeting and forecasting processes through high quality finance and administrative support.
This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
