Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of public law childcare matters, including care proceedings, supervision orders and emergency protection orders
- Represent the authority in Family Courts, including contested hearings
- Provide timely legal advice to Children’s Social Care and other internal stakeholders
- Draft legal documentation, statements and court applications
- Advise on pre‑proceedings under the Public Law Outline (PLO)
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance and case law
- Work collaboratively with social workers, managers and partner agencies
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement
