Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of public law childcare matters, including care proceedings, supervision orders and emergency protection orders
  • Represent the authority in Family Courts, including contested hearings
  • Provide timely legal advice to Children’s Social Care and other internal stakeholders
  • Draft legal documentation, statements and court applications
  • Advise on pre‑proceedings under the Public Law Outline (PLO)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance and case law
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, managers and partner agencies
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement
