Clerk of Works (Highways) needed in Hammersmith. This is a temporary contract initially paying £300.00 per day PAYE.
The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of a varied capital works programme by managing and monitoring on-site construction activities carried out by contractors, sub-contractors, internal teams, utility providers, and external organisations. They will ensure all works are completed to the required specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements through regular inspections of materials, workmanship, safety practices, and traffic management arrangements.
They will enforce compliance with relevant construction, environmental, and health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations, and ensure all traffic signs and carriageway markings meet statutory and design standards. The role involves daily site attendance, conducting surveys and inspections, addressing deviations promptly, liaising with developers where needed, and ensuring that projects of all sizes are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
