Overview
We have multiple vacancies within Financial Accounting that were previously filled by interim resource. One interim is leaving, and although the service is now moving to permanent recruitment, there is an urgent need for interim support to ensure completion of the Statement of Accounts and year-end close down.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the year‑end close down process
- Prepare and support the completion of the Statement of Accounts (Local Authority)
- Provide hands‑on technical accounting support during a busy period
- Work closely with internal finance teams to support statutory reporting deadlines
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA preferred; CCAB also considered)
- Proven hands‑on experience of local authority year-end close down
- Strong background in preparing Statement of Accounts within a local authority setting
- Ability to hit the ground running with minimal handholding
- Prior Local Authority Experience
- Recently led LA year end and production of SoA.
