We are seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable Leasehold Manager to lead on all aspects of leasehold management across our portfolio. This is a senior role, ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in leasehold law, service charge compliance, and tribunal work, who can also drive service excellence and manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leasehold Compliance & Legal Expertise
    • Act as the organisation’s technical expert on leasehold law and relevant case law
    • Set, review, and embed organisational processes to ensure full legal compliance
    • Interpret complex lease clauses relating to service charges, repairs, insurance, and landlord/tenant obligations
    • Oversee compliance with statutory consultation requirements (Section 20) and service charge legislation
  • Tribunals & Dispute Resolution
    • Lead and manage all First-tier Tribunal (FTT) cases, including service charge disputes, lease variations, and Section 24 applications
    • Prepare and review submissions, statements of case, and evidential bundles
    • Manage complex leaseholder disputes and escalated complaints, providing clear and legally robust advice
  • Right to Manage & Enfranchisement
    • Oversee and advise on Right to Manage (RTM) claims, including notice validation, counter-notices, and handovers
    • Support collective enfranchisement processes, including qualification and valuation considerations
    • Work closely with legal and valuation professionals on enfranchisement matters
  • Lease Review & Governance
    • Conduct detailed lease analysis to identify risks, ambiguities, and defects
    • Lead on lease variation processes, including statutory applications where required
    • Develop and maintain strong governance frameworks and leasehold standards
  • Service Charge Management
    • Ensure service charges comply with legal requirements around reasonableness, transparency, and trust accounting
    • Oversee dispute resolution relating to service charge recovery and major works
    • Support robust budgeting, cost allocation, and reserve fund management
  • Managing Agent Oversight
    • Manage and oversee managing agents, ensuring compliance with the RICS Residential Management Code and industry standards
    • Monitor performance, financial controls, procurement processes, and governance
    • Drive service improvement and accountability across agent-managed stock
  • Building Safety & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated leaseholder protections
    • Work closely with internal teams on building safety obligations
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, financial, and reputational risks
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Lead and develop a team of leasehold professionals
    • Provide expert advice, reporting, and recommendations to senior stakeholders
    • Deputise for the Head of Property Management where required
