Head of Property, Design & Delivery needed in Stafford. Paying £387.96 per day. Full time hours on a temporary basis.
This role will oversee the insourcing of a Property Professional Services Design function via TUPE, managing a team of approximately 30 professionals and maintaining supplier relationships. It is pivotal in transitioning services from external providers to in-house delivery, with full responsibility for TUPE processes.
The post holder will provide strategic leadership, ensure service excellence, and drive innovation in property design and delivery. They will ensure that the necessary systems and processes are in place to maintain continuity of service throughout the transition period, while also advising on organisational design and recruitment to create a future-fit operating model.
The successful candidate must be able to advise on organisational structure implications and options. Essentially, this is a Head of Property-level role requiring significant design office experience and the ability to technically lead a design function.
This is a hybrid position requiring attendance at the Stafford office three to four days per week, with occasional full-time on-site presence. The role involves leading and managing the return of a property design team to in-house delivery. The team currently focuses almost exclusively on school new builds, expansions, and corporate building projects.
While some M&E, structural, and civil capabilities are outsourced, all architectural and PM/QS work is delivered internally. We need someone with experience in leading a property professional services design office who can plan and implement a seamless transition of services back, with a strong emphasis on delivering time-critical school projects.
The current portfolio is valued at approximately £120m, with most projects at the design stage. It includes a mainstream all-through school, an SEND all-through school, several new primary schools, a health centre, an 80-bed nursing home, and various school and office expansions and refurbishments.
