We are seeking an experienced Development Management Manager to lead and shape the future of our planning service. This is a pivotal role with a primary focus on supporting the integration of the Technical Support team back into Planning. You will play a key part in redesigning the team’s functions, supporting a restructure, and ensuring robust technical support and training are in place. Alongside this, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the DM teams (excluding enforcement and strategic sites), ensuring high performance and excellent service delivery. You will also work closely with the Assistant Director of Planning to develop and deliver a comprehensive Planning Improvement Plan, driving positive change and efficiency across the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the DM teams, ensuring effective performance and service delivery.
  • Oversee the integration and redesign of the Technical Support team within Planning.
  • Support team restructure and provide technical guidance and training.
  • Collaborate with the AD Planning to implement the Planning Improvement Plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within planning processes.
