Subject Matter Expert: Research, Development & Innovation needed in Cardiff. This is a temporary contract initially paying £34.76ph PAYE. The successful candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert, driving the development and delivery of a major Investment Zone programme designed to accelerate economic growth, stimulate innovation and create long‑term, inclusive prosperity across South East Wales.
They will provide specialist expertise to ensure all interventions are evidence‑based, future‑focused and aligned with strategic priorities, leading the advancement of the innovation agenda through the delivery of strategy, attraction of investment and deployment of high‑impact initiatives.
The role will focus on strengthening the conditions needed for innovation‑led growth, supporting the creation of high‑value jobs, resilient supply chains and a globally competitive regional economy. Working closely with senior leaders and delivery teams, the successful candidate will shape and implement priorities across high‑value sectors such as compound semiconductors, advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with wider regional economic and industrial plans to drive growth and attract inward investment.
