We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic legal professional to join our team as Head of Commercial within Legal Services. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and influence key legal and corporate initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and complete complex legal agreements including s106, s38, s278, and other planning and highways-related agreements and licences.
- Provide expert legal advice on all matters relating to planning and highways.
- Lead, manage, and supervise a multidisciplinary team of contract, planning, and property lawyers.
- Actively contribute to the Legal Services Management Team, supporting strategic decision-making and service development.
- Deliver member training and attend council committees, including Planning Committee, providing high-level legal advice.
