The role is focused on engineering transformation, organisational effectiveness and helping engineering teams continually improve the way they work.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone from an

Key Responsibilities

  • Help improve engineering effectiveness, engineering maturity and organisational health across multiple engineering teams.
  • Track progress against OKRs, strategic objectives and engineering improvement initiatives.
  • Produce high-quality executive presentations, briefing papers and stakeholder communications.
  • Gather metrics, engineering insights and success stories to demonstrate the impact of Engineering Practices initiatives.
  • Support Engineering Communities of Practice, capability uplift initiatives and engineering engagement activities.
  • Build strong relationships across Engineering, HR, Communications and Strategy teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering ways of working and increase organisational effectiveness.
  • Key Requirements
  • Experience leading or supporting engineering transformation, engineering operating model or engineering effectiveness initiatives within large technology within Engineering Transformation, Engineering Operations, CTO Office, Engineering Enablement, Technology Strategy or similar engineering-focused functions.
  • Experience working closely with senior engineering leaders to improve engineering capability, governance and ways of working.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across complex matrix organisations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including executive presentations, reports and briefing papers.
  • Experience coordinating multiple strategic initiatives across engineering organisations.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and portfolio tools such as Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Financial Services or banking experience. Experience supporting Engineering Communities of Practice, Engineering Excellence or Developer Experience initiatives.
  • Exposure to engineering effectiveness measures such as DORA metrics, OKRs or similar engineering maturity frameworks.
  • Experience working within large, complex enterprise organisations.
  • Contract Details
  • £ per day (inside IR35)
  • Hybrid working Sheffield
  • Potential for Birmingham to be considered for exceptional candidates (subject to client approval)
  • Initial contract with strong potential for extension.
