We are supporting a Tier 1 bank within their Technology function who are looking to bring in an AI Enablement PMO to help their portfolio governance team improve how they operate through AI-driven automation and process improvement. Sheffield (Hybrid - must be able to commit to 3 days per week on-site). Inside IR35. Initial 6 months with a strong likelihood of extension.
This role sits within a portfolio delivery / PMO function overseeing large technology change programmes. The team is specifically looking for someone who has hands-on experience automating operational PMO activities using AI or automation tools, rather than simply using AI tools individually.
You will work closely with delivery leads and portfolio teams to identify operational pain points and design solutions that reduce manual effort and improve reporting, analysis and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting governance across technology change portfolios
- Identifying manual PMO processes that can be automated or improved
- Designing and implementing solutions to automate activities such as:
- portfolio reporting and status updates
- executive summaries and programme insights
- risk / issue analysis and trend identification
- data consolidation across delivery teams
- Experimenting with and implementing tools such as Copilot, Power Automate, Power Platform, AI workflows or similar
- Working directly with delivery teams to improve how PMO processes operate
- Producing insight-led reporting for senior leadership
- Must have hands-on experience implementing solutions using AI tools such as Copilot, Power Automate, Power Platform, Python or similar
- Background in PMO, portfolio governance, delivery management or transformation
- Experience working in large, complex organisations (financial services highly advantageous)
- Demonstrable experience automating operational processes within a delivery, PMO or programme environment
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to identify opportunities for automation
- Comfortable working with delivery teams to design practical solutions to operational challenges
Please note: This role is focused on applying AI and automation to real delivery processes. Candidates should be able to demonstrate examples of automation they have implemented within PMO or programme environments, rather than only personal use of AI tools.
