We're supporting a major UK bank on a large-scale data and analytics transformation programme and are looking for experienced SAS professionals who can bring genuine hands-on expertise across testing, troubleshooting and platform support. This is not a role for a generic Test Analyst with SAS exposure. We're looking for individuals who have spent years working within SAS environments and can draw upon that experience to identify issues, challenge assumptions and help teams navigate complex technical problems.
The Role
You'll be joining a high-profile programme focused on the evolution of a large enterprise SAS estate, working across both existing SAS 9 environments and future-state SAS Viya capabilities. You'll be involved in the testing, validation and troubleshooting of SAS solutions across data, reporting and analytical environments, helping ensure successful delivery of critical business and regulatory outcomes. While the role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the UK, it would be helpful if candidates have the ability to attend occasional meetings at the bank's London offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing SAS code, processes and outputs
- Validating data pipelines and data flows
- Testing reporting and analytical outputs
- Supporting troubleshooting and defect investigation
- Working closely with development, testing and business teams

- Supporting large-scale SAS transformation and migration activities
- Identifying root causes and helping resolve complex SAS-related issues
Key Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience working with SAS
- Strong knowledge of SAS 9
- Exposure to SAS Viya highly desirable
- Experience testing SAS code, data pipelines and reporting outputs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
- Ability to investigate issues and identify root causes
- Experience operating within large-scale enterprise environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Experience (not a necessity)
- SAS migration or transformation programmes
- Altair / SLC exposure
- SQL and data validation
- Experience within Financial Services, Insurance, Energy, Utilities or other regulated industries
This role would particularly suit experienced:
- SAS Consultants
- SAS Developers
- SAS Technical Leads
- SAS Architects
- SAS SMEs with strong testing, validation and troubleshooting experience.
We're looking for seasoned SAS professionals who have genuinely lived and breathed the technology and can bring practical expertise into a testing and assurance environment. This is an opportunity to join a significant transformation programme with a long-term roadmap and strong potential for extension.
