ISHPI is seeking a Sr. Software/Applications Developer (on-site) to support the Command and Control (C2) Afloat Integration Support (C2AIS) for the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, VA. This role will manage the supported systems of the C5ISC and provides services to include system engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, network engineering, test engineering, electronic engineering, and technical writing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software using multiple software development methodologies including Agile.
  • Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
  • Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
  • Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
  • Address problems of system integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Consult project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
  • Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
  • Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
  • Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Act as task leader on projects.
  • Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team.
  • Participate in development of software user manuals.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years applications development experience using programming languages (e.g. Rails, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, .NET, and Java etc.).
  • A current Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification is required.
  • Requires an active DoD security clearance and must be a U.S. citizen.
