The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Maintenance Co-Ordinator. You will provide technical support to Engineering Technical Assurance, as well as Production and Maintenance teams, in the effective day-to-day management and maintenance of civil assets, ensuring compliance with standards, operational reliability, and safe working practices.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Promote and continuously improve site civil safety standards, acting as a role model and ensuring safe working practices for self and others.
  • Maintain and implement civil engineering standards across the site.
  • Prepare scopes of work for civil maintenance activities, obtain and evaluate quotations, and raise purchase orders for contractors.
  • Attend weekly PU planning meetings to ensure all civil work activities are accurately captured and scheduled.
  • Manage and track Civil Action Notes raised by the Civil Inspector, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Effectively prioritise and manage workload, escalating conflicts to the Team Leader where necessary.
  • Provide support to the Small Projects Group and contribute to turnaround activities.
  • Support plant change processes and act as a signatory where required.
  • Act as an Authorised Engineer and Excavation Permit signatory, where applicable.
  • Provide out-of-hours support as required.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship supported by an ONC, HNC, or equivalent higher-level qualification. Candidates will have proven experience in civil and marine engineering or building works, with the ability to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness. Experience working within a Tier 1 COMAH environment is highly desirable, alongside a strong understanding of petrochemical safety procedures and systems.

The successful candidate will also have proven experience working both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams, with demonstrable expertise in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of civil, building, and marine assets. They will be capable of fault finding and carrying out repairs on civil, building, and marine infrastructure, and able to liaise effectively with Engineering, Operations, and Contracts and Procurement functions at all levels.

Competence in the use of IT systems to produce civil and marine work scopes is essential, as well as experience using SAP for raising requisitions and processing contractor payments. The role requires an individual who is physically fit and able to work at height and in confined spaces.
