Location: Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, Ellesmere Port

Employment Type: Site Based Full Time Role 5 days per week Monday-Friday

Role Summary:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Maintenance team as a core analyser technician. The role is responsible for carrying out the preventative and corrective maintenance of our online analysers and sample systems and their associated equipment. The role is site based as part of a wider Analyser Maintenance Team. The equipment we use is diverse and encompasses analysers ranging from water, effluent and emission monitoring through to final product quality analysis. This will include sample points, sample conditioning and calibration standard management. Types of analysers include pH, conductivity, GC's, titration and NIR and span a broad range of applications. The role incorporates the safe delivery of on-going scheduled maintenance activities, calibration, commissioning equipment, fault diagnosis, repair and data recording.

Responsibilities:

  • Fault diagnosis and repair of Analytical Measuring equipment in line with relevant industry standards including COMPEX
  • Evaluating and interpreting technical drawings in order to repair Analysers on petrochemical plant and equipment
  • Providing safe and cost-effective services to the business, with minimum impact on the environment
  • Supporting Refinery Shutdowns/Projects as when required
  • Raising incidents that provide learning opportunities and participate in follow up corrective action
  • Mentoring both peers and apprentices to develop the next generation of skilled employees
  • Option to participate in an out of hours duty system
  • Adding value as a multi-skilled or core-skilled technician to improve plant reliability

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds, NVQ, ONC or equivalent) and have significant experience of working within the Petro-chemical industry. You should have an understanding of analyser principles of operation and of analytical equipment maintenance, overhaul and repair techniques. You should have excellent communication skills and be fully conversant with RCA, defect elimination techniques and processes. You should also be IT literate and have a sound understanding of Safety legislation and quality procedures and be a self-motivated individual.
