ESS Employment Ltd is recruiting an experienced Fullstack Laravel Developer on behalf of an established client in the Yate area. The client operates in manufacturing and supply of products related to access control and identification. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a fast‑growing company.
Location & Working Hours
- LOCATION: Yate, Bristol
- START DATE: ASAP
- PAY: £30 - £35 per annum, depending on experience
- PERMANENT WORKING HOURS: 8.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday, Hybrid after probation
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining web projects using PHP and Laravel
- Backend development and database structure
- Developing and integrating APIs and third‑party systems
- Collaborating with designers and creatives to deliver exceptional digital experiences
- Supporting the technical lead
- Overseeing hosting environments and recommending improvements
- Ensuring performance, scalability, and security across all builds
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial experience working with PHP
- Production experience with Laravel
- Strong MySQL relational database skills
- Experience consuming web services via APIs – SOAP, XML and RESTful
- Solid front‑end skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React or Livewire a bonus)
- Experience with Git, version control, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges
- Self‑motivated with the ability to research and figure out solutions independently
- Team player who can collaborate effectively with designers, developers, and other colleagues
- Attention to detail and pride in producing clean, well‑structured work
- Good communicator – able to ask clear questions and share ideas
- Passion for technology and building things that make a difference
- Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and documentation skills
